Neil E. Duke

Neil E. Duke, an associate at Ober Kaler and a member of the firm’s Employment & Labor practice, has been sworn in as President of the Monumental City Bar Association, one of the oldest minority bar associations in the country.

Andrew E. Greenwald of Joseph, Greenwald & Laake, P.A., was elected co-chair of the Birth Trauma Litigation Group of the Association of Trial Lawyers in America at its recent convention in Boston.

Michael Conron, a partner in the law firm of Venable LLP, has been elected a member of the American Law Institute (ALI) by the organization’s Executive Board. The ALI membership consists of judges, practicing lawyers and legal scholars selected on the basis of professional achievement and demonstrated interest in the improvement of the law.


James C. Howard

Chesapeake Meridian announces that James C. Howard has become a member of the firm. Howard was previously an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the District of Maryland and a Senior Trial Attorney in the Environmental Crimes Section at the U.S. Department of Justice.

Edward O. Wayson, Jr., of the Annapolis law firm of Cooter, Mangold, Tompert & Wayson, LLC, was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the State Capital Global Law Firm Group, an association of nearly 120 independent law firm groups located in capital cities and major commercial centers around the world.

The law firm of Gordon, Feinblatt, Rothman, Hoffberger & Hollander, LLC, announces that Barry F. Rosen has been re-elected to serve a fourth five-year term as the firm’s Chairman and CEO.

Adele L. Abrams has been admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States. She is the president of the Law Office of Adele L. Abrams, a five-attorney firm in Beltsville, Maryland.

Cheryl Lynn Hepfer, an attorney with offices in Rockville and Upper Marlboro, has been installed as President-Elect of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.

The Rotary Club of Woodlawn-Westview honored Pastor Michael E. Marr as a recipient of its “2004 Service Above Self Award” during the club’s annual awards dinner.


Timothy Mitchell

Timothy Mitchell has been elected President of the Maryland Criminal Defense Attorneys’ Association. He will serve as President during the 2004-2005 term. Mitchell is a solo practitioner in Greenbelt, Maryland.

Piper Rudnick LLP attorney Kelly Tubman Hardy has been named one of Baltimore’s “40 Under 40” by The Baltimore Business Journal. The list recognizes up and coming business leaders in the Baltimore region.

Whiteford, Tayor & Preston L.L.P. announces that Richard F. Waddington has joined the firm as Counsel in the firm’s Real Estate Group. Waddington’s practice will focus on environmental law with an emphasis on transactional and regulatory matters.

Susan Zuhowski, of the Annapolis law firm of Cooter, Mangold, Tompert & Wayson, LLC, was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the Manufactured Housing Institute of Maryland, an association which represents manufactured housing community owners, manufacturers, insurers, realtors, financiers and suppliers throughout Maryland.
