Harriet E. Cooperman

Governor Robert L. Ehrlich, Jr.,
has reappointed Harriet E. Cooperman to a six-year term on the Maryland
State Higher Education Labor Relations Board. Cooperman is a Partner with

Baltimore SmartCEO has named Venable
LLP attorneys Michael J. Baader, Charles J. Morton and Richard
L. Wasserman among 40 attorneys that the magazine has labeled “Maryland’s
Legal Elite”. Baader is Chair of the firm’s Corporate Group,
Morton is a partner Venable’s transactional law practice, and Wasserman

Robert D. Roseman has joined Miles & Stockbridge P.C. as a
principal in the firm’s Tyson’s Corner (VA) and Rockville
(MD) offices. Roseman specializes in corporate and real estate transactional

Venable LLP litigation partner Bruce Parker has been named 2005-2006
President-Elect of the International Association of Defense Counsel, one
of the oldest international organizations comprised of senior counsel representing
many of the world’s largest corporations and insurers.
Scott A. Thomas, a partner in the Litigation Department of Tydings
& Rosenberg, LLP, has been elected to the Board of Directors of Court
Appointed Special Advocates, an organization that provides assistance to
abused and neglected children in the Juvenile Court system.
Susan E. Roberto, an associate in the Corporate, Business and
Tax Department of Tydings & Rosenberg, LLP, has been elected to the
Board of Directors of Civic Works, a non-profit organization that provides
critical community services throughout Baltimore.

Kim Viti Fiorentino
|
Shulman, Rogers, Gandal, Pordy & Ecker,
P.A., announces that shareholder Kim Viti Fiorentino has been named
President of the Board of Directors of the Mental Health Association (MHA)
of Montgomery County. Fiorentino, who is chair of the Pro Bono Guardianship
Program at Shulman Rogers, has served on the MHA Board since 2003.
Maryland Lawyers for the Arts (MLA), an organization that provides legal support
to artists, has named E. Scott Johnson and Michael S. Yang as
MLA President and Vice-President, respectively, for the 2005-2006 term. Johnson,
a partner with Ober Kaler, also currently serves as chair of the Mid Atlantic
Arts Foundation. Yang is a partner with the Baltimore-based firm of Gorman
and Williams and worked as a graphic designer and as a medical researcher utilizing
computer imaging prior to attending law school.
Maryland Legal Services Corporation (MLSC) Executive Director Susan Erlichman has
been appointed to serve on the board of directors of the National Association
of IOLTA Programs. MLSC administers Maryland’s Interest on Lawyer Trust
Accounts (IOLTA).
Venable LLP announces that R. Thomas Hoffmann has been named a partner
in the Business & Finance Department in the firm’s Washington, D.C.,
office.
