At the 22nd annual Olender Foundation Awards, founder Jack Olender presented the “Champion of Justice” Award to Sandra Robinson, Public Justice President, due to her group’s advocacy for the rights of consumers and the injured.

Jeffery N. Zinn, an associate in Saul Ewing’s Business Department, was named to the Board of Directors for Advocates for Children and Youth, an organization that fights for better healthcare and education for all children in Maryland. Furthermore, Joyce A. Kuhns, a Partner in the firm’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring Department, has completed her eight-month Leadership Maryland program.

The German Marshall Fund has awarded Gary Norman along with 52 other Americans their 2008 Marshall Memorial Fellowship, in which they will each spend 23 days in Europe visiting various societies and cultures in an attempt to educate the next generation of American and European leaders on the importance of a transatlantic relationship.

Evan J. Krame, an estate planning attorney, has been named President-Elect of Shared Horizons, Inc., an organization that allows individuals with disabilities to place funds that would otherwise make them ineligible for public benefits in a trust.

Offit Kurman has promoted Michael N. Mercurio, an outside general counsel, and Steven E. Shane, an attorney practicing in estate planning, to principal.

Whiteford, Taylor & Preston, LLP, has brought in and appointed new leaders to guide their firm into the new year: William F. Ryan, Jr., was selected to chair the firm’s Litigation Department; Edward M. Buxbaum has been chosen to helm the Business Litigation Section; and Christopher B. Lord and Damian J. Mark have been elected as partners.

Jacobs & Associates has added Jeffrey M. Glassman as an associate in their Washington D.C. office.
