Council member Bios

Phil Dantes has been a Correctional Reform Council member since 2004 and is currently in the private practice of law out of a 2-person firm in Towson.  He handles many matters involving inmates and the criminal justice community administrative agencies, among other things.  He is also an adjunct professor of law at the University of MD School of Law and teaches trial advocacy classes for the continuing legal education of lawyers through MICPEL.

In his previous lives, Mr. Dantes was:  Chairperson, MD Parole Commission; Acting Chief Legal Counsel, City of Baltimore; Principal Counsel, Correctional Litigation, MD Attorney General's office; Training & Litigation Director & felony trial lawyer, City State's Attorney's Office; faculty member, Univ. of MD School of Law; antitrust trial attorney, Federal Trade Commission.
