This Section hosted programs involving Secretary Richard Hall of the Maryland Department of Planning; the lawyers in the Hudson Farm Clean Water Act Citizen Suit; and Chief Counsel Fred Wagner to the Federal Highway Commission on the Inter-County Connector. It also presented a panel on environmental issues relevant to construction law. The Section meets approximately six times a year and performs a service project, typically in conjunction with the MSBA Annual Meeting.

The purpose of the Section of Environmental Law is:

  1. To bring together members of the Maryland State Bar Association interested in environmental law;
  2. To promote the continuing legal education of the bar in environmental law;
  3. To sponsor environmental law publications for the benefit of the bar and public; and
  4. To work on a cooperative basis to improve the law and promote the interest of the public and members of the bar in environmental law.
