Judicial Administration Section
2011/2012 ANNUAL REPORT:
|
This Section continued its joint effort with the Family &
Juvenile Law Section focusing on the issue of self-represented
litigants (SRL). It evaluated numerous legislative bills that
may specifi cally relate to judicial administration, submitting
recommendations supporting, opposing, or abstaining from
a position to the MSBA, and also reviewed proposed and
implemented Rules from the Court of Appeals Standing
Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure. The
Section supported the Maryland Judiciary Professionalism
Commission’s Mentoring Program for New Admittees through
active participation of several members as Mentors. It will
once again co-sponsor a program with the Continuing Legal
Education Committee at the MSBA Annual Meeting. |
PURPOSE:
|
The purpose of the Section is to examine and attempt to improve the
administration of justice throughout the judicial system of Maryland, including all of the
courts comprising that system, both state and federal, appellate and trial courts of
general and limited jurisdiction.
