Members on the Move: July 2026

As the home of Maryland’s legal profession, the Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA) celebrates the accomplishments of all of its members. MSBA is proud to highlight the recent achievements, career moves, and impact members make within the legal profession. Please join us in congratulating the following members on their recent moves.

Joseph Fried joined the Baltimore office of Baker Donelson as an associate, as a member of the Tax practice, where he focuses his practice on estate planning, trust and estate administration, and related tax matters.

McMillan Metro Faerber, PC, announced the addition of James M. Brault in an Of Counsel capacity to the firm’s Litigation Department. Brault has represented individuals and businesses in a wide range of civil cases for almost 40 years in Maryland courts and Federal courts, as well as the District of Columbia courts. He has represented clients in corporate and partnership disputes, derivative claims, business torts, breach-of-contract litigation, employment litigation, construction litigation, insurance coverage disputes, and estates and trusts litigation. He has also briefed or argued more than 30 appeals in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Federal appellate courts. 

White and Williams LLP announced the appointment of Eric Korphage as Co-Chair of its Construction and Surety Practice Group. Korphage has focused his commercial litigation practice on surety and construction law for over 20 years and regularly represents and counsels surety companies, construction contractors and project owners in a wide variety of matters and disputes. Korphage is also a frequent author of legal publications. He is an author of the Maryland Construction Law Deskbook, Chapter on Surety Law (MSBA 3ed. 2023), and the American Bar’s Association’s The Law of Performance Bonds, Chapter on Surety Defenses (ABA 2018).
