The Effective Use of Court Interpreters

Free Learning for Members green background
The Maryland Judiciary provided language interpreters for more than 19,000 hearings, trials, and court-related events last year. Currently there are 460 court interpreters listed on the Court Interpreter Registry in 68 languages including American Sign Language. The program will focus on the best practices for lawyers and litigants to communicate most effectively with and through court-appointed interpreters. A distinguished panel of judges and judiciary leadership staff will facilitate discussion of language access services and tools available for limited English proficient (LEP) participants.

One hour credit will be offered for the surrounding MCLE states of Virginia, Delaware and Pennsylvania.

The Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA) is committed to making its online and in-person services, products, and events accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. To request an accommodation, please complete this
